Dragon 'De Luxe' (international monotype)
Monotype «Dragon» happened to withdraw from the Olympic Games in 1972 and consequently started arranging its own championships that were quite fascinating and prestigious. Real connoisseurs of good old tradition remember the Dragons Olympic history without any regret. At present the «Dragons» have their own association (IDA) with a membership in The International Sailing Federation (ISAF). They hold prestigious international competitions in more then 36 countries on regular basis (Europe, Australia, USA, Hong-Kong, Japan). The International Dragon Association is chaired by Konstantin, King of Greece, and Henrik, Prince of Denmark was nominated as IDA Vice-President. All royal families of current Europe participate in their way in the «Dragons» activities and thus predominate its further progress. The «Dragon» has become a yacht for gentlemen as to apply with objections or to infringe the rules during regattas is considered to be bad manners. Actually, it is not forbidden, but not welcomed. In most European countries their national navy consist of both wooden exclusive «Dragons» and of those made of modern plastic and composite materials. These monotype boats are manufactured due to severe regulations as a common feature of their class which makes them capable of racing in line with single rules without any impediments. This specific detail of the «Dragon» model when a sportsman of a wooden yacht can compete for a trophy with its plastic mate, brings extra charm to «Dragon» yachts. One may have a splendid retro-boat and race with it at international regattas.
Our shipyard manufactures high-class «Dragon» yachts of solid mahogany. This model is built and further licensed under the supervision of an official IDA measurer (International Dragon Association), which proves for the high quality performance of hull and yacht in general.
